From October 3 through November 16, San Mateo County Parks received input on a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to restore and improve Flood Park via a form on the Parks website. The review period is now complete. All written comments regarding the adequacy of the Draft EIR were required to be submitted during this time period.

    The Draft EIR

After carefully considering the public input we had received to date, we included in the Draft EIR two additional alternatives to the proposed action. These alternatives were aimed at addressing concerns we heard about traffic and noise impacts associated with Flood Park improvements. We also received public input regarding the pressing need for more playfields and opportunities for baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and other activities to serve the community. Our proposed action and the alternatives described in the Draft EIR seek to balance these interests in different ways.

An electronic copy of the Flood Park Draft EIR is available here on the SMC Parks website.
